During this time of uncertainty and angst we have been hauled into a forced situation of Marie Kondo's dreams come true! We are forced to decide where and how we interact with people, forced to decide what activities and things genuinely deserve our time and attention and we are learning to live without the things we thought we needed to survive. The ultimate, unplanned purge!
This is an awesome opportunity if you think about it. I am learning to break the cycle of unnecessary spending and gross over-consumerism. And it feels amazing!
As we navigate into a life potentially less bogged down with "stuff" and enriched with more time spent with the ones who matter to us the most and experiences with those select people, lets learn to gift more meaningful gifts as well.
The gift of photography is so much more than "picture day" with the "nice" outfits and perfectly behaved (bribed) children. Photography is a gift of remembering life right now, creating stills of real moments that would otherwise be left behind and eventually forgotten. Gift a session to your best friend, to your mother, to yourself. It is one thing that will never be re-gifted or sold in the driveway, and it will never be regretted.
